Ústav zaměstnává a hostí mnoho cizojazyčných výzkumníků. Angličtina je očekávanou samozřejmostí. Stáž v zahraničních centrech výzkumu jsou také samozřejmostí. Ústav je prakticky nejznámějším ústavem tohoto výzkumného typu v oblasti chemie a biochemie.
