Senior C# / .NET Sofware Engineer - Traffic Tools (m/f) - Yunex Traffic

Who are we looking for?

We're looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to help shape the future of our Traffic Tools portfolio. Working across modern .NET technologies, desktop applications, cloud-based services, and AI-assisted development workflows, you will play a key role in delivering innovative solutions that improve urban mobility and traffic management worldwide.

What will be your responsibilities?

You will be part of an international team developing innovative traffic control solutions and next-generation traffic engineering tools. Together with internal and external partners as well as international teams, you will continuously enhance our products and design new features for urban traffic planning and control.

AI-Supported Development in everyday SDLC is integral to our workflow. We use tools such as GitHub Copilot CLI and Claude Code as productivity boosters, with validation, code reviews, and high quality standards.

You will accelerate innovation by adopting next-generation traffic engineering technologies and building AI toolchains to modernize systems and clear technical debt.

Your primary responsibility

• Agentic .NET development

Use AI‑driven agentic engineering practices by configuring and optimizing agentic development environments, integrating autonomous agents into workflows, and actively leveraging AI tools to accelerate coding, debugging, documentation, testing, and operational tasks. You will mainly focus on the following two areas:

• .NET Microservices Development and maintenance

Design, implement, and maintain backend microservices using .NET (8+), following clean architecture and cloud‑native principles.

• Desktop Application Development (.NET Framework 4.8)

Develop new features, replace legacy components and maintain code quality of our Windows desktop application.

Your secondary responsibilities

• Test Automation Engineering

Design and implement acceptance / UI tests for the desktop application using modern testing frameworks and best practices. Act as an experienced practitioner who can introduce contemporary testing approaches, improve test reliability, and help shape a sustainable long‑term quality strategy.

• Configuration management

Assist in maintaining and improving TeamCity and Gitlab build pipelines and release workflows.

• Operational Engineering

Support vulnerability report handling, OSS clearing, dependency updates, and release compliance.

• Expert Technical support

Serve as the technical escalation point for the most complex and critical issues occurring on the customer side. Diagnose and resolve deep technical problems within the desktop application, perform advanced debugging, and provide authoritative guidance to ensure rapid and high‑quality issue resolution.

What do you need to qualify for the role?

• Practitioner‑level AI development experience gained through daily hands‑on work with these tools and technologies.
• Strong experience with microservices architecture (.NET 8+) and desktop backend development (.NET Framework 4.8).
• Deep technical expertise in the .NET framework, paired with a strong mastery of object-oriented design (OOD), standard design patterns, and clean code architecture practices
• Solid understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes or similar).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (TeamCity, GitLab CI/CD).
• Experience with test automation frameworks.
• Strong ownership mentality and willingness to handle cross‑functional tasks.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm and strong interest in enhancing AI‑driven engineering workflows.
• Communicative and proactive team approach and positive attitude toward continuous improvement
• You can communicate in English (you'll be working with colleagues from abroad on a daily basis)
