The mission Of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) is to promote democratic values by providing accurate, uncensored news and open debate in countries where a free press is threatened and disinformation is pervasive. RFE/RL reports the facts, undaunted by pressure.
RFE/RL is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our team in Prague and support the design, implementation, and operation of our enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with network security, routing, switching, and wireless technologies, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong experience with Check Point firewalls
- Hands-on knowledge of Cisco firewalls (ASA, FTD), including: IKEv2 site-to-site VPN tunnels
- Remote access using Cisco AnyConnect
- Experience with Cisco ACI
- Solid knowledge of routers and SD-WAN
- Expertise in switching technologies: Cisco IOS
- Cisco Nexus
- Wireless networking experience with: Cisco IOS-based Wi-Fi
- Cisco Meraki
- Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and AAA
- Experience with Cisco ISE
- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN architectures
- Experience addressing security vulnerability issues identified through network and security scans
- Ability to process and resolve tickets raised by other technology teams
- Experience working on network-related projects, including design, implementation, and upgrades
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use a methodical, step-by-step approach to break down complex problems or processes, identify cause-and-effect patterns, and analyze issues to arrive at appropriate and effective solutions
- Ability to communicate in English
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Cisco IP Telephony
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable network solutions
- Manage firewall policies, VPNs, and network security components
- Remediate vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security standards
- Troubleshoot complex network issues using structured and analytical methods
- Provide operational support through ticket handling and incident resolution
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project delivery and continuous improvements
- Maintain accurate network documentation and follow industry best practices
