About the Role & Division
At Thales, trust is the foundation of the digital world. Our Digital Identity & Security (DIS) division helps businesses and governments protect identities and secure digital interactions.
Within DIS, the On-Demand Connectivity (ODC) business line powers secure eSIM technology, enabling seamless, remote connectivity for devices globally:
- IoT & Remote Management: Deploy IoT devices, manage remote workforces, and launch connected products without physical SIM delays.
- Real-World Impact: Fleet updates on the fly, smart factory optimization, and instant wearable connectivity during travel—all with zero physical intervention.
- We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) who thrives in both application-level problem-solving and infrastructure design. This role focuses on applying software engineering practices to make ODC applications reliable, scalable, and performant in a cloud-native, production-grade environment.
What You’ll Do
- As part of the ODC SRE team, you will bridge the gap between application development and operations:
- Cloud & DevOps Operations: Support ODC products on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with a focus on SRE principles, reliability, and automation.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain IaC and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, Helm, and GitLab CI/CD.
- Ownership & Reliability: Drive a "you build it, you run it" mindset across systems and application lifecycles.
- Technical Leadership: Serve as a key technical voice during Change Advisory Board (CAB) reviews and provide Tier II expertise.
- Observability: Manage real-time system monitoring and continuously improve observability and alerting.
- Deployment & Readiness: Support end-to-end cloud deployments (design, rollout, performance tuning) and lead operational readiness reviews.
- Process & Support: Guide technical documentation, incident response, SLA compliance, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
