The mission Of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) is to promote democratic values by providing accurate, uncensored news and open debate in countries where a free press is threatened and disinformation is pervasive. RFE/RL reports the facts, undaunted by pressure.

We are seeking a Unified Communications Engineer who has experience in a Cisco Unified Communications environment and can help us further standardize our telecommunications infrastructure. You'll get to work with people around the globe as well as locally to ensure that we follow RFE/RL business processes as well as RFE/RL security standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide end user support for all Unified Communications (collaborative applications, mobile devices, video terminals, and voice endpoints).
  • Perform relocations, additions, and changes to telephony services based on requests.
  • Maintain employee satisfaction levels for telephony services provided and take proactive actions to improve services as needed.
  • Provide billing services for telephony usage.
  • Maintain and/or provide documentation on Unified Communications processes and procedures
  • May travel to our remote locations.
  • Work some evening shift work and standby support according to a schedule set.
  • Perform other projects and responsibilities at RFE/RL’s discretion.

Experience & Competencies:

  • Experience with Unified Communications administration, support and troubleshooting (Cisco UCM Telephony environment).
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience with configuring and administering VOIP phones and GSM handsets.
  • Experience with Cisco networks (routers, switches and gateways).
  • Experience with updating Call Manager and other UC applications.
  • Knowledge of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP), G.711 and G.729 codecs, Digital Tone Multi Frequency (DTMF), H323, QoS.
  • Ability to work independently and with a strong sense of system ownership.
  • User resolution, problem solving and debugging/troubleshooting skills.
  • Collaboration skills and attention to detail.


Languages:

  • Good knowledge of English; written and oral communication skills.
  • Czech – Desirable.
